Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Analyst
Description:
Pearster is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
Analyst to support one of our top-tier clients in their Security Operations team. This
role is critical in safeguarding sensitive data by monitoring and responding to
potential data loss incidents across various environments including endpoints,
email, web, and cloud systems. You will play a key role in protecting intellectual
property, customer data, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities:
● Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-wide DLP
solutions across endpoints, email, web, network, and cloud environments.
● Investigate and triage DLP alerts/incidents to determine their nature,
severity, and impact.
● Serve as the escalation point for complex DLP incidents, performing
in-depth analysis, root cause identification, and remediation coordination.
● Collaborate with stakeholders (including but not limited to Legal and
Compliance) to assess data protection requirements and recommend policy
adjustments.
● Assist in the tuning and optimization of DLP policies to reduce false
positives and improve detection accuracy.
● Coordinate with Security Operations Center (SOC) and IT teams to respond
to and remediate DLP violations.
● Maintain and update documentation of DLP policies, procedures, and
incident response activities.
● Participate in periodic audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments
related to data protection.
● Stay current on evolving threats, data protection technologies, and
regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, or equivalent work experience.
● 5+ years of proven professional experience in Cyber Security and DLP.
● Experience with DLP technologies such as Symantec DLP, Microsoft
Purview (formerly AIP), Forcepoint, or Digital Guardian.
● Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).
● Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
● Understanding of data classification, encryption, and secure data handling
practices.
● Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment.
